The Chapter

The Chapter of the Royal Orders of Knighthood is the highest governing body of the Swedish orders and meets once a year, at the end of April, under the leadership of H.M. The King as Grand Master. The order's office's most important and original task is to assist the Chapter.

The Chapter of the Order consists, in addition to the Grand Master, of the Chancellor of the Orders, the Vice Chancellor of the Orders and four more members appointed by the Grand Master. Order matters are decided under extra order chapters when they are presented by the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor to the Grand Master. The Chancery is co-opted at the Chapter.
